Young people of compulsory school age often like to add to their pocket money by taking on a part-time job, such as delivering newspapers or working in a shop on Saturdays. But, there are laws and rules to be observed regarding the employment of pupils to ensure that their education does not suffer and that they are safeguarded at work.
If you are at school and have a part-time job you need an employment certificate from Lancashire County Council.
